| Description | This document is about Children In Need (as defined by Section 17, Children Act 1989). It has been agreed by Suffolk Safeguarding Children Board (SCB) and is mandatory for staff in Children’s Social Care and all SCB partner organisation s. It forms part of a complementary suite of safeguarding guidance – the other key parts being Child Protection, Looked After Children, and the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) Process. It is effective from 1 April 2008. It replaces all previously issued guidance and arrangements for addressing “children in need”, or “family support” or preventive work with children and families – in Children’s Social Care and all SCB partner agencies. |
